Xicana poet & multi-modal artist based in Chicago.

Esquivel's work has appeared in Poet Lore, Barrelhouse, and A Public Space. She received the 2021 Zócalo Prize and was the 2025 Writer in Residence of Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Her debut poetry collection, Crying My Best, received the VersoFrontera Prize, and is coming out Fall 2026 with Texas Review Press.
